The Gellért Bath has been closed since 1 October 2025 for a long renovation; reopening is expected in 2028. Széchenyi, Rudas and Lukács are open. We say so up front, not in the small print.
Bus 100E from the airport to Deák tér takes about 35 to 40 minutes, the suburban train to Szentendre about 40, to Esztergom about an hour and a half. Knowing that beforehand is how you plan the day.

No. The Gellért Bath has been closed since 1 October 2025 for a long renovation, and reopening is expected in 2028. Széchenyi, Rudas and Lukács are open, and they are the baths most visitors choose instead.
Széchenyi in City Park has by far the most reviews of any bath on this site and tickets from about €39 – large, busy, with outdoor pools. Lukács is the cheaper option, with a full-day ticket from about €33. Rudas offers a day pass with a meal. Compare what the ticket includes: cabin, locker or fast track.
The public 100E airport bus runs around the clock to Deák tér and takes about 35 to 40 minutes; the fare is 2,500 HUF. A shared door-to-door shuttle from this site costs from about €17, a private transfer more. The shuttle pays off with luggage, in a group or on a late arrival.
Mostly what comes with the ticket. Plain sightseeing cruises start at around €10 and last about an hour; boats with unlimited prosecco, beer or cocktails cost about €20 to €27; dinner cruises with live music start at around €65. Read whether the drink is one welcome drink or a package.
Yes, there is an entry ticket with audio guide, listed at about €43. Guided tours in a fixed language, such as Spanish, are separate offers. Check the language and the available times on the offer page before you pay.
Szentendre is about 21 km away and takes about 40 minutes by suburban train from Batthyány tér, so it needs no tour. Esztergom is around an hour and a half by train from Nyugati station. Visegrád has no direct train – you go to Nagymaros and cross by ferry. A tour makes sense if you want all three in one day.
Ruin bars are bars set up in old, run-down buildings and courtyards, mostly in the Jewish Quarter in District VII. You do not need a tour to enter one. A pub crawl bundles several bars, shots and often VIP entry into one price – what exactly is included and any minimum age are stated per offer.
